Streaming Classical Music:

I wanted to create a free source for people to check out streaming classical music.  At the beginning of the 20th century, composers of classical music were experimenting with an increasingly dissonant  language of pitch, which started to create atonal compositions. Following World War I, as reaction to what composers saw as the increasingly exaggerated gestures and formlessness of late Romanticism, certain composers adopted a neoclassical style, which sought to recapture the balance in form and clearly perceptible thematic processes of earlier classical music styles. After World War II, modernist composers sought to achieve greater levels of control in their composition process., through the use of the 12 tone technique and later total serialism).. At the same moment,, conversely, composers were experimenting with means of relinquishing control, exploring indeterminacy or aleatoric processes in smaller or larger degrees. Technological advances led to the birth of electronic music. Experimentation with tape loops and repetitive textures contributed to the advent of minimalism.   Our streams tend to focus more towards the moden electronically influenced composers, including the newest breed utilizing computers and effects processors to create classical sound worlds new and never explored before.  Our website offers free online streaming radio 24/7 and tons of information about contemporary classical music artists and composers.

Contemporary Classical Music:

Contemporary classical music can be understood as belonging to the classical music created post-1945.  Our site tries to focus on works from the last several decades, but will often throw in works from the earlier years as well .  This means our streams can contain the post-1945 modern forms of post-tonal music, such as serial music, electroacousitc music, musique conrete, atonal music, and minimalist music). In addition to music from the acadmic word, our streams also contain many exmples of the finest works coming from film score composers, game music composers, avantgarde contemporary classical musicians, and bands working in the neoclassical and post modern genres, all blended into set lists that  make sense with one another.
